- Begin by parting hair down the middle, and securing half of the hair out of the way for now…
- Near the right temple, begin to twist the hair upward towards the part-line, adding in hair as you go {you want it to look like one contiguous twist, not multiple chunks twisting together}…
- Continue twisting, adding in hair, as you work your way around the side of the head {you want to keep the twist about 3 inches above the ear, you do not want the twist to lay close to the hair line…
- If it helps, feel free to secure the twist against the head with a few bobby pins {the video shows you how to insert them for lock} as you twist back…
- As you are about to add in your last section of hair, and your twist is about to cross over the part line on the back of the head, bring the hair straight down towards the neck {this will create a slight downward angle in the hair, like a dog leg}, and temporarily secure with ponytail holder {or have daughter hold}…
- Repeat Steps #2-5 on the other side of the head…
- When the second twist is finished, bring both twists together at the nape of the neck and re-secure with your ponytail holder…
- Go back to where the to twists create the 90 degree angle, and, using hair pins, pin the twists together {this will give you the tornado twist and shape in the hairstyle {the video shows you exactly how to insert the hair pins}…
- Lastly, wrap a small strand of hair around the elastic to hide it, and secure with a bobby pin…
- Add hairspray or accessory
